That is what iCaria Certified is for. We verify every provider before they are matched, and we keep that verification current so you never have to wonder whether it still holds.
If you take this work seriously, you want a platform that takes it seriously too. iCaria Certified is not a form you fill in once. It is a professional standard you earn and renew. The training is real, the agreement is clear, and the badge is something families actually recognize when they choose who cares for their parent.
The four pillars
KYC (Know Your Provider)
We verify a government photo ID, a live selfie, and proof of address for every provider. Drivers also submit a valid driver's licence, vehicle registration, and auto insurance. Documents with an expiry date are tracked and renewed on time.
Checked by iCaria operations before approval, and again at every renewal.
Two recommendations
Every provider gives us two personal or professional references. We contact each one ourselves and speak with them before we say yes. We do not rely on forms, screenshots, or claims the provider makes alone.

Service Provider Agreement
A written agreement every provider signs electronically before they can accept requests. It covers conduct, safeguarding, confidentiality, fees, cancellation, and how incidents must be reported. It is renewed every twelve months.
Signed by the provider, countersigned and archived by iCaria, renewed yearly.
iCaria Certified training
Required courses on caring for older adults, delivered inside the provider portal: reading, an embedded video from the iCaria Together YouTube channel, and a knowledge quiz. Providers complete onboarding modules before their first request, take annual refreshers, and new topics as they are released.
Each module's credit is issued the moment the provider passes the in-portal quiz.

Providers recertify every year, and we release new topical modules through the year so training keeps up with the best guidance available.
How the badge stays current
iCaria Certified is not a one-time badge. Identity documents with an expiry date are re-verified. The Service Provider Agreement is re-signed every twelve months. Training is renewed yearly, and new topical modules are added as care guidance evolves. If a provider lets any requirement lapse, we pause them until the renewal is complete. That is how families can trust that the standard behind the badge is still the standard today.
