For Advocates

You are already the person your community calls.

Join iCaria as a Family Advocate. We bring the training, the credentials, the tools, and fair pay. You bring what you already have: the trust of your community.

You might be reading this because

  • You are a retired or semi-retired nurse, social worker, teacher, or community health worker
  • You are a former agency coordinator who still knows the caregivers in your neighborhood
  • You are the community leader families already trust as the first call
  • You are an adult child who has coordinated care for your own parents and understand the weight of it
A Family Advocate at work: present, trusted, organised

What we do

  • We meet new member families in their language, at their own pace
  • We know the names of the parents we serve
  • We are the first call when a question comes up, when something goes sideways, when a family just needs a human voice
  • We help plan around the rhythms of the family, the season, the holidays that matter
  • We keep a trusted list of iCaria Certified helpers and drivers we have seen do good work

We are not clinicians, financial advisors, or legal decision-makers. Part of the work is knowing when to refer.

Advocates guide families through the same service catalog families see and book from.

What we do not do

  • No medical or clinical decisions
  • No holding a family's money or accepting payment from them
  • No acting as a legal agent or power of attorney
  • No working outside the iCaria Certified network

What we stand behind you with

  • A professional contractor engagement. You run your own practice.
  • A revenue share on every member family you serve, with bonuses when families stay
  • iCaria Advocate Certified training, delivered inside the advocate portal with iCaria Together videos and a knowledge quiz per module
  • Software built around your actual work: caseload, messaging, ledger, renewals
  • A caseload sized for real human attention, not a volume treadmill

The work

How an advocate works

Three parts to the job, once a family is assigned to you.

Starting as a Family Advocate with iCaria
01

Families are assigned

Matched to you by language and neighbourhood. You meet them at their pace and learn the household before anyone comes to the door.

02

Set up care plans and teams

You draft the care plan, and it goes live once the family approves it. Then you build their regular team from iCaria Certified helpers and drivers you have watched do good work.

03

Coordinate care

You follow visits as they happen, step in when one needs it, rate on the family's behalf, and keep the plan current as things change.

What could this pay?

Move the sliders to match the caseload you could realistically carry. Every figure comes from our live compensation settings, not a brochure.

Estimated monthly

CA$1,500

about CA$18,000 a year

25 Basic families
CA$938
3 Pro families
CA$563

An estimate, not an offer. What you actually earn varies with your area, how much time you give it, the mix of families you support, and how active they are. Your caseload is set with you, not fixed by this page. New ways to earn are likely to open up as premium services are added.

Tell us about yourself

We read every application. We reach back in your preferred language.

Applying takes about ten minutes. From there: a background check, a credential review, the Advocate Agreement and your training, then you shadow a colleague before your first family.
