If you live far from your parent

You cannot be there. You still need to know.

Distance turns small things into unanswerable questions. Did they eat today. Did anyone come. Is the house alright. You end up either calling too often or worrying in silence, and neither one helps your parent.

Does any of this sound familiar?

  • You are in another city, another province, or another country, and a visit costs a flight.
  • Every phone call becomes an interrogation, and you can hear your parent getting tired of it.
  • You rely on a neighbour who is generous but has their own life.
  • A sibling closer by is carrying most of it, and it is starting to show.
  • You have no way to check anything without asking your parent to report on themselves.

The problem is not that you do not care enough. It is that caring from a distance has almost no reliable inputs. That is a fixable problem.

What closes the distance

You book, they receive

You arrange everything from wherever you are. Your parent does not need an app, a login or a smartphone for any of it. Someone simply arrives.

See how it works

Updates after every visit

You see when the provider arrived, what happened, and anything they thought you should know. Facts, not reassurance.

See our safety commitments

The same trusted people

You choose the provider and can keep requesting the same person. Continuity is what turns a service into a relationship, and it is what makes someone notice a change.

See what iCaria Certified means

A Family Advocate if you want one

A named human coordinator in your parent's community who speaks your language, plans with you and resolves problems, so you are not the only project manager.

See what an advocate does

Not surveillance

There are no cameras, no motion sensors and no tracking of your parent. Updates come from people who were in the room, and your parent knows exactly who is coming and why. Monitoring a parent without their agreement buys you information and costs you the relationship. We are not willing to make that trade on your behalf.

Plain honest answers

Can I book from a different country and time zone?

Yes. Booking, approving and paying all happen wherever you are. Services are delivered in your parent's local area and priced in their local currency.

What if something is wrong?

You hear it from the person who was there, in the visit update, rather than finding out weeks later. For anything urgent the provider contacts you directly. A Family Advocate, if you have one, is the named person who then sorts it out.

Does my parent need a smartphone?

No. Everything can run through you. There is an iCaria Elder app for parents who want it, deliberately simple, but it is optional and nothing depends on it.

My sibling and I both want to be involved. Does that work?

Yes. A family account can hold several members and several loved ones, so more than one of you can book and see updates. That is often the quiet win: everyone can see the same thing, so nobody has to relay it.

Can you help in my parent's own language?

We match a provider who speaks their language where we can, and we say so honestly when we cannot. The platform itself is in English, French, Arabic and Spanish.
