Fatin Obaid is the founder and principal of Alnjoom School; alnjoom means "the stars" in Arabic. She came to Canada from Iraq and settled in Mississauga. When she could not find a place where her own children could learn Arabic and Islamic values in a modern, engaging way, she founded the school in 2014. It now teaches children aged 4 to 18 from families across the Greater Toronto Area, with a focus on conversation, confidence and connection. She speaks English and Arabic.
Through iCaria Together, Fatin offers the school's Arabic Language Program and its Islamic and Quran Studies Program, taught together every Sunday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at John Fraser Secondary School in Mississauga.
